Antiques Tour

Until about 25 years ago, Nova Scotia was an extremely fertile source of antiques. Store owners and auctioneers seemed to be able to come up with rejuvenated stock every season. Very few of these items were imported, almost all were found in older country and city homes, where they may have remained in use since their original purchase from a local factory, long since defunct, or an itinerant Yankee peddler selling what was then the latest thing from Boston or New York. Another prime source of antiques in Nova Scotia has been the incessant roving of its seafaring sons, returning from parts known and unknown, laden with souvenirs and mementos of far-off lands. These keepsakes were usually handed from generation-to-generation along with the stories that accompanied their acquisition. Today, antique treasures are more difficult to find but truly precious finds are still to be had if you know where to look. Let us lead your way.

Our tour will commence from the nearest antiques store to the pier where your Ship will dock and we will proceed to explore most of the antique shops on our route along the Lighthouse drive. Duration of our tour is about 5 hours including photo stops and the drive back to the ship.

Best time of the year to visit Nova Scotian antique shops, arts & craft stores and galleries is from June 15th to September 15th. Many of our antique stores and craft galleries are seasonal operations.
